I mentioned cake in a previous post, and it reminded me of one of my obsessions:
Publix cake.
This is the only thing I ask for when my birthday rolls around. I don't give a shit what it looks like, or if it says "Happy First Communion", just as long as it's yellow cake and buttercream frosting.
I once did a tasting for a wedding cake competition. Every single one of those cakes sucked ass. They didn't even compare to Publix cake. I'm a pastry chef, and although everything I make is awesome, my stuff doesn't hold a candle to Publix cake. That's why it's the jam. By the way, that's a watertower in Lakeland, FL, in the picture below.
